<%@LANGUAGE="JAVASCRIPT" CODEPAGE="65001"%> CITY 7: TORONTO CONFLICT V2

JANUARY 17, 2008
It’s a new year and City 7 is back in action!

We (the team members and George Brown College) have received overwhelming support to continue our project to reach the Combine tower (CN tower). We’ve restructured the Toronto Conflict website and re-released the prototype as V1 Gordon Freeman. The new release features level design improvements on the St. Michael’s Hospital rooftop, with new branding and some minor changes.

As some may have guessed, V1 Freeman was actually an alternate take on events that take place in HL2.   The next release of City 7: Toronto Conflict is currently codenamed Empty Core (V2) and will be based on an accurate story connected the Half-Life universe.  V1 actually has no relation to V2 other then the levels that are being redesigned.

V2 unfolds in Toronto, Canada, a.k.a City 7, where Karin Storm is hiding out, performing her duties to the rebellion as a covert logistics officer.   Her brother, the leader of the rebellion, has united citizens to overthrow the Combine. The game begins as rebel intelligence informs Karin that her brother has been captured during a vital mission and is being transported to the Combine processing plant. Karin must find a way downtown, and fast, before the Combine assimilate her brother and jeopardize the rebels’ plans.

V2 Storm is a unique mod project, comprised of a core of sponsorship funded George Brown graduates, game design students, and volunteers. Players will explore new virtual areas of the city such as Front St, the CN tower and the P.A.T.H. (an underground series of malls and shopping centers located in heart of downtown Toronto).

Please continue your support by spreading news or making donations that will go towards funding our sponsored graduates.

Thanks for playing V1 Freeman and we all look forward to a full release of V2 codenamed Empty Core in the Fall of 2008.

During the next couple of weeks we will continue updating the site, adding new features as well as creating bi-weekly news report on the development of the project.

Mailing lists and RSS feeds will be coming soon.
